GENERAL ACCESS LABORATORY

The General Access Laboratory is an open laboratory available for all students of FEU – East Asia College. No classes are being conducted so that students will have a venue for their computer-related projects and research when other computer laboratories are being used. Only 40 units are allocated here since no projection unit is needed because no classes are being conducted here.

This laboratory is composed of PC units for general access, for saving and restoring of data and files in their shared folder (through a centralized file server setup), and for printing and document/image scanning purposes. Also, a system for login/logout unit is being utilized called the Comlab Login/Logout (CLILO) system, a client is installed and is used to generate the reports pertaining to laboratory utilization. There are dedicated Comlab personnel assigned here to man and oversee the operation.

 

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS AND PROGRAMMING LABORATORY

The Computer Programming Laboratory is intended for the use of students taking up courses in computer programming being serviced by the ITE Department. Also, various applications are installed in these laboratories for use of students and faculty members to better teaching of courses. 41 computer units are allocated on every computer applications and programming laboratories since the class size of every laboratory classes is 40 students/class. The remaining unit is intended as projection unit paired with a dedicated multimedia projector.

 

MULTIMEDIA LABORATORY

The Multimedia Laboratory is intended for the use of students taking up Multimedia and Web Design course track and Web Development course track being serviced by the ITE Department. 41 computer units are allocated in this laboratory since the class size of every laboratory classes is 40 students/class. The remaining unit is intended as projection unit paired with a dedicated multimedia projector.

 

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS LABORATORY

The Computer Applications Laboratory is intended for the use of students taking up advanced engineering and computer studies courses that make use of specialized application packages. 41 computer units are allocated in this laboratory since the class size of every laboratory classes is 40 students/class. The remaining unit is intended as projection unit paired with a dedicated multimedia projector.

 

COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING (CAD) LABORATORY

Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) Laboratory (T409) is a computer lab for drafting/drawing exercises.

 

LANGUAGE LABORATORY

The Language Laboratory (LL) aims to help students enrolled in English language courses enhance their communication skills in a positive, friendly, and safe environment.

Through its latest hardware and software technology especially designed for the development of the students’ language faculty, the LL truly provides an avenue for students to practice and develop their oral-aural skills necessary in today’s competitive society.

As a support to the English communication courses of the College, the LL also provides a unique language learning experience to the students outside the confines of the traditional classroom.

 

NETWORK LABORATORY

This laboratory is intended for the use of students taking up Networking course track. This laboratory simulates Local Area Networking (wired and wireless) as well as Wide Area Networking services and connectivity to be able to deploy client/server networking applications and systems. Several platforms are being used for instruction such as Desktop-based platform (Windows XP/Linux), and Server-Based Platform (Windows Servers and Linux). The courses being taught and simulated in the network laboratory follows the curriculum of the industry recognized network leader Cisco. The College is currently a Cisco Networking Academy.

A maximum of 20 students/networking class is allowed to use this network laboratory. The activities being done here are all hands-on networking activities and pc configuration activities and are recommended to be taught in a small class size setting.

 

NETWORK/PC ASSEMBLY AND TROUBLESHOOTING LABORATORY

Aside from being a network laboratory which simulates LAN operation to be able to install and configure different networking services, this laboratory is also a PC Assembly Laboratory, where students are being taught on the functionality of a computer system, including its assembly and troubleshooting. Several platforms are being used for instruction such as Desktop-based platform (Windows XP/Linux), and Server-Based Platform (Windows Servers and Linux).

A maximum of 20 students/networking class is allowed to use this network laboratory. The activities being done here are all hands-on networking activities and pc configuration activities and are recommended to be taught in a small class size setting.
