“It’s time to rethink how we work. Build a solution-driven mindset, redesign workflows, and drive real, measurable innovation across FEU Tech.”
That is the futurist mindset that impelled the team at the FEU Tech Innovation Center to spearhead the FTIC Caravan, a two-day seminar-workshop series aimed at amplifying the culture of innovation across all departments.
Associates from both academic and operations offices gathered at the Engineering Building last April 6 and 8, 2026, to create, innovate, and collaborate, affirming the Institute’s commitment to technology-driven excellence, operational efficiency, and student-centered impact.
Keynote speaker Dr. Gabriel Avelino Sampedro, Balik Scientist under the Department of Science and Technology – Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) and CEO of the Philippine Coding Camp, drove the conversation on Innovation for Nation Building, showcasing how strong collaboration among government, industry, and academe can empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to overcome barriers to modernization.
Meanwhile, parallel sessions on Design Thinking, Technopreneurship, Intellectual Property (IP), and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) took place throughout the afternoons of the two-day event, equipping participants with practical tools to enhance instruction, improve student outcomes, streamline support services, boost engagement through digital solutions, and apply collaborative strategies that embed innovation into daily work processes.
Day Two opened with welcome remarks from Engr. Norman Nicole Jimenez, FTIC Director of Innovation Programs, who reiterated the importance of active participation and co-creation in building an innovation-driven ecosystem within the Tamaraw community.
Engr. Daryl David, Senior Director for Innovation and Research, stressed that cultivating an innovation mindset requires a cultural shift beyond technical skills, presenting FTIC’s key programs as drivers of an agile, forward-thinking community and encouraging associates to contribute to the shared goal of building a successful homegrown startup.
The two-day FTIC Caravan served as a platform for collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation, empowering Tamaraw associates with practical tools to enhance instruction, improve student outcomes, streamline support services, and boost engagement through digital solutions—driving meaningful and lasting impact across FEU Tech.
