6th Student Recognition

Athletes, student leaders, academic achievers, faculty advisers, and Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) were honored at the 6th Annual Students Recognition celebration, held last April 30, at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel. Spearheaded by FEU Tech’s Student Affairs and Community Services Office (SACSO), the event highlighted the accomplishments and exemplary performance of the College’s student body during School Year 2012-2013.

Presented at the event were awards for Athletics, National Organization Officers, Inter-Institute Competitions, National Competitions, Top Performing Students, Best Outreach Program, Best RSO Activity (Academic and Non-academic), Most Outstanding Organization Officer, Most Outstanding Organization Adviser, and Most Outstanding Student Organization.

FEU Tech participants in the FEU Athletics league were recognized for ranking 1st among nine participating FEU Institutions. Seven student leaders were recognized for being elected officers of various national organizations, including Samahan ng Mag-aaral Para sa Pagpapaunlad ng Pisika (SMPP), Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines  Student Edition (ICpEP), Philippine Association of Campus Student Leaders  National Capital Region, and Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Lungsod ng Maynila Chapter.

Winners and finalists of Inter-Institute Competitions were recognized for their achievements in various events, including SAYAWIT 2012 Competitions, and the 1st International Conference in Technology Student Edition 2013 (InCiTe  SE 2013). Moreover, participants in National Competitions were recognized for the successes in national quiz shows, conference competitions, youth leadership competitions, and research writing contests.

A total of 65 Top Performing Students were recognized for their exemplary academic performance: 18 Civil Engineering students, nine Computer Engineering students, 13 Electronics Engineering students, three Electrical Engineering students, three Computer Science students, and 19 Information Technology students.

RSOs were recognized for their academic and non-academic activities. 3rd JPICE LNM Students Quiz 2012, by the Association of Civil Engineering Students (ACES), was selected Best RSO Academic Activity. Sounds of Physics, by Physics Society’s (PhySo), was selected Best RSO Non-Academic Activity. PhySo’s Solar Bottle Bulb Making Seminar and Installation was also selected Best Outreach Program of the Year.

PhySo’s President, Gene Justine Rosales, was hailed Most Outstanding Organization Officer, and Engr. Ma. Crisella D.C. Pelaez, PhySo adviser, was hailed Most Outstanding Organization Adviser. PhySo was selected Most Outstanding Student Organization, School Year 2012-2013. This is their second consecutive year receiving this recognition.

Male and Female Stars of the Night were also chosen among the attendees. This year’s Stars were Franco Flores and Leslie Sahagud, both are Civil Engineering students.
