Posted: 2016-11-03

“We are all business people. We are all individual brands like all brands that are worth lots and lots of money… you need to make those investments in yourself and these investments not only come in the form of education, but what you do outside of here.” words of Patrick Lespinasse of Verizon’s State Government Affairs from New York, USA to FEU Tech students as he talked about Business+Government+Society last October 21, 2016.

Mr. Lespinasse was joined by various speakers from different sectors, including Ms. Czarina Nava Sacaguing, Head Legislative and Political Affairs Office of Congressman Ricky Eusebio, Pasig City; Maria Castronuevo, Legislative Officer, Office of Senator Rector; Quin Cruz, Youth Representative for Office of the President for Anti-Poverty Commission; Bryan Hernandez, President, Hatch-Eco Inc.; and Jam Nagamora, National Champion Debater, Legislative Staff Congress. They shared insights about entrepreneurship, governance and social issues in the Philippines. Part of their visit was to also promote Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), a leadership training program spearheaded by US President Barrack Obama that seeks to build the leadership capabilities of youth in the region, strengthen ties between the United States and Southeast Asia, and nurture an ASEAN community.

When asked about the assistance that the US Government offers to the young Filipino Entrepreneurs, Lespinasse said that the US Embassy offers sponsorship for a 6-week training in the US to select students for leadership trainings.
