Leading the way in AI readiness among higher education institutions, the FEU Institute of Technology Group of Schools convened at the FEU Tech Innovation Center on May 11 and 12 to engage its “AI champions” in meaningful discussions on how artificial intelligence can create greater value in today’s education landscape.
The two-day event titled “AI Champions Workshop: Training the Trainers Sessions” brought together representative faculty members and associates from FEU Tech, FEU Alabang, and FEU Diliman who were eager to be equipped with the best tools, the right values, and an open mindset—all essential in transitioning into AI-native institutions driven by technology and innovation.
Day 1 sessions, led by institutional leaders and experts from FEU Tech, centered on conversations about AI adoption, change management, policy and governance, and navigating the evolving landscape of education. FEU Tech Executive Director Rosanna T. Adao, in her “AI 101” session, shared important foundational insights on integrating AI into both academic and operational settings. She reminded the audience: “AI is just another stage in our technological advancement, and humans have always adapted.”
To this, FEU Tech Senior Director for Human Resources Jacklyn Anne C. Mantolino added: “AI is not meant to become better than humans, but to help humans become better versions of themselves.”
The discussions helped reshape participants’ perspectives on AI—from gaining a deeper understanding of the evolving role of educators in the age of AI to embracing the shared responsibility for innovation, adaptability, and collaboration in shaping the future of learning. Executive Director Dr. Benson T. Tan concluded Day 1 of the training-workshop by proposing a holistic, human-centered framework for sustainable AI adoption across all three schools.
