𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼-𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀
Imagine your entire class teasing you for a romantic connection with your blockmate for a whole term…. It sounds silly, doesn't it? Yet, that was the beginning of Ivy and Don Sepe’s love story, our first alumni for #LoveInFEUTech: A Valentine’s Special Story.
Ivy and Don graduated B.S. Computer Engineering from FEU Tech in 2008 and are now happily married. Taking a trip down memory lane in 2004, they first became acquainted as blockmates and often crossed paths during special events for SM Foundation Scholarship.
Behind the playful teasing from their classmates, the two secretly began exchanging text messages. Back then, with each SMS costing ₱1, they had to limit their conversations to just 2 or 3 texts. From this, their love story blossomed, and the rest was history.
“I think I made the right choice,” Ivy remarked, realizing that they will be celebrating their 19 years as a couple this year.
During their time at FEU Tech, Ivy served as the first President of the Student Coordinating Council, while Don led as the President of the Computer Engineering Organization.
“We are grateful for FIT for giving us spaces to grow academically while we expose ourselves in leadership roles. FIT, then, was like a sandbox for us.”
As the eldest children in their families, Ivy and Don knew that without a scholarship, graduating from college would be unattainable. Thus, they prioritized their studies throughout college. Unlike typical young couples, most of their dates were spent studying together in the library, mutually supporting each other's dreams to finish college and secure a better future.
After graduation, they embarked on separate career paths, but their shared ambition to provide more for their families motivated them to enter the world of entrepreneurship. Luckily, their shared values also helped to further strengthen their relationship since then.
“Despite knowing all the faults and imperfections of each other, we still believe that our relationship and partnership is best for us. Our beliefs align in the most important areas in life and we know that together, we can build our life and success.”
After 8 years of being in a relationship, Ivy and Don decided to tie the knot in 2013. At present, they are Independent Distributors and Founder of Happy Breadwinners PH. Undoubtedly, they are soulmates who have forged their bonds within the Tamaraw community, braving life’s challenges by holding onto true love.
